Social & Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning is embedded across all aspects of life at Biyala Primary School and underpins our approach to teaching and learning. We explicitly teach skills such as emotional regulation, resilience, empathy and positive relationships, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 Personal and Social Capability. Predictable routines and consistent expectations across classrooms create safe, supportive environments where students feel known and ready to learn.

Using the VTLM 2.0 framework, teachers model and teach behaviours that support engagement, wellbeing and independence, ensuring students develop the skills needed for both learning and life.
